Mode Print Solutions Have Fun with Guns at Team Event

It’s not often at Mode that we can say we are shooting moving targets! However, when it was time to discuss what we should do for our team day we knew we wanted to mix in some pure 80’s music and push the boundaries by trying our hand at Clay pigeon shooting!

We all boarded the Mode mini bus recently and headed to Hampshire!

Whilst we enjoyed a delicious team meal together we waited with anticipation for the 80’s band to begin so that we could enjoy dancing and boy did we dance!

As a fast moving business, it’s great to just stop and connect with our engineers and other team members who are always in the field and are not office-based because of the high level of service we offer our customers.

So on Saturday it was a very tired and achy Mode team that after a full English breakfast, headed off to try out Clay Pigeon shooting.

After some instruction, one being to definitely not get the urge to shoot each other, we all headed to the range to try and shoot some moving clays!

What struck us was how excellent we all were-however we must confess, the instructors were brilliant teachers. From our Chief executive right through to our recent new members in Client Support and our new IT Support Engineer, we all proved ourselves to be quite the marks people! Although we do have to add that perhaps one service engineer should stick to the day job, but we’ll keep who that was a secret!

Shooting in teams with people we may not necessarily talk to on a day to day basis or work with directly, meant that we were able to get to know each more, particularly the new team members and relax and have fun!

What is important to us though is spending some time together away from the day job, where our focus is of course our clients. However, spending this time together ultimately makes us a greater team for our clients because of our bond together.

A great night and day for the Mode team and one that will be repeated soon, maybe we should all take up Clay Pigeon shooting and start a Mode competitive team!

 

Mode’s Excellent Service Team Do It Again with Astounding Response Time!

So many great things have happened in the past year. As a growing vibrant company we always strive to retain, and develop new talent and continue to develop ways to further excel with our high levels of service for our clients.

We always monitor our Service Engineer’s speed of response in order to assure our clients that we continue to offer the high level of service that Mode has become renowned for. Our preventative maintenance provides absolute peace of mind to our clients and allows them to worry about the running of their business rather than the solutions they need.

Personalised, attentive, preventative service has always been of paramount importance to Mode and as a result our clients tend to never need us. However, our engineers are postcode based to ensure that our response times are the best within the industry! Our client support team are on hand to help our clients with any needs they have and manage our engineers to ensure that we rapidly respond should the need arise.

We are so proud of these service response figures that each quarter we celebrate this on our website to allow our clients to see what they can expect from us compared to others in the industry.

Recently we reviewed our yearly response times for 2016. We are so proud to say that for 2016, our Service Engineers responded on average within 99 minutes!!

Mode Supports Reed Gift Appeal for the Second Year

Christmas is a special time, particularly for Children. Unfortunately this Christmas, many children will not have the excitement of rushing downstairs to open Christmas presents as they will be in hospital having had an accident or suffering from illness.

Following Mode’s donation last year, and the exceptional success of the Reed Welwyn Garden City branch, where 500 gifts were donated, Mode once again wanted to give something back and try to make this difficult time slightly more enjoyable for a few.

Again this year we wanted  to donate gifts such as books, games, DVDs, art & crafts material, selection boxes and similar, to cater for children of all ages. Reed came and collected these from our Client Support team on 2nd December ready to be delivered to Lister Hospital for the children who will be in over Christmas.  Merry Christmas to all those children unable to be at home this Christmas and we hope that our donations shed a little happiness at a difficult time of year.

Mode Print Solutions Wins a Digital Marketing Award

We were extremely pleased to receive a Bronze Award in the Website: Marketing and Creative category at the Hertfordshire Digital Awards in September. The award came via our digital agency, Innermedia.

The Hertfordshire Digital Awards have been running since 2014 to reward innovation and progressive thinking by businesses, individuals, events, charities, and educational establishments. The awards are also supported by the newly formed Department for International Trade, led by The Rt Hon Liam Fox, MP.

As a forward-thinking company, we understand the importance of a strong digital presence and the impact that it can have for both us and our customers. We have worked to make our site more user-friendly, engaging, and easy to find, as well as adding functions such as the average service stats and green printing tips so that both our customers and new visitors can find useful information to make their lives easier and more eco-friendly.

It’s wonderful to be recognised for a new area of our business –Mode has previously reached the finals and won awards held by the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce, as well as being recognised for our charitable donations which are a vital part of our Corporate Social Responsibility and giving back to the local and global community.

Mode supports ABF The Soldiers’ Charity

ABF The Soldiers’ charity exists to support serving soldiers, veterans and their families. They take pride in being responsive, making a difference in people’s lives, providing grants, funding and practical support.

Mode recently heard about Russell from Hertfordshire, an RSM in the Army who is taking part on 11-12 June 2016 in the Alliance Trust Cateran Yomp to raise much needed funds for ABF. Mode felt compleled to donate to this cause as Russell has served his country for over 20 years, with 3 tours of Afghanistan as well as raising funds!

Russell is doing the epic ‘Yomp’ trek across rural Perthshire and he knows better than most how tough it will be, but also knows the vital funds raised will really help the Soldier’s Charity.

Mode is delighted to be supporting this cause and we wish Russell luck on his trek.

Mode Print Solutions Reach Finals in the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Awards

Mode Print Solutions is a finalist in the People Development category in this year’s Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards.

We take great pride in developing and supporting our staff, so we’re delighted to be a finalist in a category that recognises those efforts.

As part of this award, we will be explaining why learning and development are important to our organisation, how training and skills requirements are assessed, and demonstrating our investment, commitment, and support provided to our staff at all levels of employment.

Mode nurtures young talent, but we also have long-serving team members who we have developed throughout the years. Every member of our staff is dedicated to excellent customer support and maintaining the highest service levels within the industry.

We look forward to the awards ceremony and seeing our staff recognised for all of their hard work.

Mode Print Solutions Continues Celebrating Over 20 Years in Business with its First Sales Awards Dinner

London and Hertfordshire based firm, Mode Print Solutions hosted its first Sales Awards Dinner on Friday 29th January.

The family company, which celebrated 20 years in business last year, hosted the event at Tewinbury Farm, Hertfordshire, with longstanding staff members and suppliers along with a prestigious guest speaker, ex-premiership football legend and Sky football pundit, Matthew Le Tissier.

Established in 1995, the Print solutions company that employs people in Hertfordshire and London always recognised the need to develop and invest in people in order to create a formidable, loyal sales team. Rob Clarke Mode’s Chief Executive commented “The Mode Academy is focused on developing and nurturing real talent and this is at the heart of our business. Our business has always been different, developing and investing in the right people, which is key to our success.”

Among the accolades on the evening, were Mode Top Sales Executive, Top new Business Sales Executive and Mode Academy Graduate awards. Rob continues “The awards dinner celebrates our success and our continuing growth. Mode truly stands out from others in the industry by concentrating on personal and team development. Our high quality sales process allows individuals to reach the potential to transcend from a trainee, to managing their own sales team.”

Whilst the event celebrates the company’s rapid development of the sales force, Rob continues: “Mode focuses on the whole customer experience. Mode is always described as a progressive business by the senior management team but one that is not only underpinned by the nurturing of young talent, but also celebrates longevity with several key members of staff having been in the business for the 20 years, and Daniel Breeze received an award dedicated to that on this prestigious night.

Great British Bake Off? Mode Magnificent Bakers!

As our Mode family has grown over the last year, we all realised that we all shared a common passion. OK, well we share two passions; one for providing our customers the best service in the industry, but in order for us achieve that, we all need cake!

So we were delighted when Rob Clarke our Managing Director challenged all of us to a bake off. Some were excited at the competition and were determined to win, others had never even cooked an evening meal before so were nervous about even being able to mix a cake.

Over a period of months, each week, a member of the team had to bring in a cake and we all had to secretly mark it out of ten and make comments on the texture and taste. It was extremely nerve racking when it was your term, but absolutely delightful to each week come to work and think about what type of cake we may get that week (obviously this has not aided any of our waistlines!).

Over the previous weeks we have eaten chocolate logs, chocolate orange cake, fruit cake, Guinness chocolate cake with salted caramel glaze, ginger cake, victoria sponge, we even sampled a gluten free cake, and cup-cakes – the list is endless and the waistlines have expanded!

However, it has to be noted that our proudest moment was when our baby baker (Our Service Co-ordinator) Hayley, who had never baked before produced the most amazing cup cakes with fabulous decoration. Amazing achievement Hayley we are proud and we expect more cake to come into the office soon!

However, the winner without a shadow of a doubt was Natalie our HR Manager with an amazing Malteser Marble cake. It won an overwhelming majority and we all enjoyed sampling it many times until it had all been eaten! Well done Natalie!

Last week Natalie was presented by Rob, a top of the range mixer to help Natalie provide even more cakes for Mode, so we look forward to having a cake made with her new kitchen tool soon!

Mode Academy Celebrates Our Investment in People with 2 Recent Promotions

At Mode we like to celebrate our sales teams’ achievements. Every member of our sales team is rigorously trained in our very own Mode Academy. Led by our Sales Trainee Development Manager Nick Ball, all trainees are professionally developed, learning our ‘Mode way’ and given all the tools and expertise to enable them to have all the latest product and technological information. Each recruit goes through intensive training so it is a real achievement when they pass the Mode Academy.

This week has certainly been a successful week with 2 trainees graduating to be sent out to the field to sell for Mode.

We caught up with the 2 guys who have been successful in the Academy.

Ben Patrick

Ben has been with Mode since September 2014 straight from 6th Form College where he also had a part time job at Sainsbury’s. Ben joined Mode, having always wanted to pursue a career in customer facing sales. Ben had heard from people he knew within the industry how successful Mode were and how much we were expanding, and he wanted to be part of that success! Ben commented:

“The Mode Academy has been a catalyst in my progression from trainee to salesperson and it’s also been extremely beneficial to me personally.

“I came into the company as a young boy from school and within the year I have grown and developed in my confidence with extensive knowledge so that I can go out into the field and meet customers! This is all due to the amount of training that the company invests into their staff. There is a real sense of togetherness at Mode as well as desire to succeed. This is all stems from Nick who has been influential in my development.”

Luke Thompson

Luke joined the team in November 2014 and he joined us from the management team at Tesco.

He had always wanted to get into sales and having seen the work environment at our Head office and the opportunities Mode offered to succeed, he could not wait to be part of the team! Luke commented:

“I think Mode is fantastic! They really take the time to make sure you have all the tools available to be successful, and that you have excellent training. Everybody gets involved and helps you with any obstacles. The training is challenging, however, the end result gives you endless opportunity to succeed at the highest level”

We wish Ben and Luke all the success in their next stage of their journey at Mode and look forward to seeing them continue to develop within the business.

Mode Proudly Support Paper Cut’s New Demo Suite

As one of our premier partners, we have had a close working relationship with Paper Cut for many years as part of our Managed Print Suite proposition for our customers. We were only too happy to support Papercut when they asked for our support in their new showroom by providing them with a selection of machines we supply to our customers. Paper cut asked for various machines so that they could show the full extent of their services on a wide range of products.

Mode supplied Xerox Ricoh and Lexmark equipment for the Papercut demonstration suite.
